8 weeks!

Wow 2 months. Bug has been busy busy busy, growing these last couple weeks.

-Remember those hand and feet buds that were forming last week? Well now fingers and toes have begin to poke out of them!
-The eyelids are now almost fully covering his/her eyes and will be fused shut as their fragile eyes grow.
-His/her tail is just a stub now and by next week should be gone.
-Inside the brain, nerve cells have begun to branch out and connect with one another forming a primitive neurol pathway.
-Your embryo is about the size of a raspberry (not a big one).

Oh and one month till my birthday!

7 Weeks!

OMG 7 weeks! Just 22 more days till our next appointment, I need to call in my refill of progesterone as I am on my last weeks worth so when I go in for my appointment I will pick it up. Things are just moving right along now. I actually got sick this morning. Not a lot but I was still making an offering to the porcelain god, and I am feeling better now. I should probably go find something to eat.

-Your embryo is growing bigger and bigger with each passing day.
-This week, tiny hands and feet are beginning to develop and emerge from their tiny arm and leg buds.
-By next week the “tail” protruding from your embryo should all but disappear and will start to look more like a baby than a sea creature.
-Eyelids are partially covering your embryos developing eyes, his/her nose is beginning to sprout and you could see the tip of it.
-Both hemispheres of the brain are growing, veins are developing beneath translucent parchment-paper thin skin.
-Your little embryos liver as working over time right now producing red blood cells, until the bone marrow forms and takes over that job.

Yesterdays Dr visit

After having a freak out yesterday because of my symptoms seeming to have disappeared and calling the Dr's office and talking with them. They suggested that I head down to L&D in SD as a walk in for the OB clinic there and they would see me for an ultrasound or at the very least just to talk to an actual Dr and get all my worries out. So we got to the hospital and checked in and waited what seemed like an hour but was probably 20 minutes. My heart was racing the whole time and I felt like I couldn't catch my breath. Finally we were then called back into the exam room and waited probably another 30 minutes for the Dr to come in. After he came in and asked me a few questions he went and got a nurse to help with the ultrasound machine.

Look what we found just chillin in my uterus. Our little bug!
You may not be able to but you can see the arm buds and eyes and it's just so cool!

It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. As soon as the Dr zoomed in on bug you could easily see the heartbeat! It was just such a beautiful sight I could have just stayed there for hours watching. Unfortunately the Dr didn't feel the same way, and since we were the last ones there and a walk in they were in a hurry to get home. But they did at least do measurements and bug
was measuring one day ahead of where I thought we were. So going on I thought we were 6 weeks 3 days but it was really 6 weeks 4 days. It was just so amazing that we got to see our beautiful baby and the heartbeat and have a picture. Also from what the Dr pointed out the placenta looks to be on the left hand side, and according the to Ramzi method that means we will most likely be having a girl which I had a feeling about when I first found out. But we still have a few weeks before we will know.

I feel so much better now and wouldn't you know my symptoms came back last night and seemed to be worse than before, I'll take it though!

Just a few more weeks before we tell everybody!

6 Weeks!

Half way to the "safe zone". Although I will feel like I am at that point once I see my beautiful baby's heartbeat thump-thump-thumping away in 3 weeks!

You can ignore my not so great drawing, the mouth area can be confusing.

-Your little embryo no longer looks like a tadpole but it now beginning to resemble something more like a shrimp.
-Your little embryo is about the size of a lentil bean or snow pea (approx ¼ inch long).
-His/her eyes, ears, nose, and mouth are taking shape and ear buds are forming.
-Little arm and leg buds are visible and if you were to get an ultrasound you should be able to see his/her little heart thumping away pumping the blood through his/her tiny body.
-Internally your little embryo’s intestines, brain, lungs, muscle, and bones are all developing.
-The primitive placenta is formed but your little embryo will still be getting some nourishment from the remaining yolk sac.

Worry Wart

I'm a worry wart. It can't be helped though.
I've gone through two miscarriage for seemingly no reason and I'm right around the point with this pregnancy where my pregnancy from November ended. I don't have hardly any of the usual pregnancy symptoms and while I try and tell myself that I am just lucky I wish I was puking my guts up lol.
I've also been more worried about loosing bug today because yesterday and today I have had two girls that I know in the blink of an eye loose their baby. One was 9 or 10 weeks pregnant the other was due around the same time I had been in August. I'm heartbroken for them I cried so much when I read the news.

I just wish that the next 3 weeks (from tomorrow) would rush by, and that I would be at 9 weeks and seeing my beautiful baby moving all around on the ultrasound screen.
I don't feel as though anything is wrong, like I dunno I guess in my heart I know that this is our baby the one that we will be bringing home and getting to love forever, but I can't help but worry, and as amazing as Daniel is he doesn't really get it and just tells me not to.

I just love my little bug too much already. Time seems to be crawling by right now but when I am holding my beautiful baby in my arms come February 2012 it will seem like just yesterday I was finding out that I was pregnant.

Dear Love Bug

Dear, Bug!

Welcome to my uterus!
I can't tell you how thrilled I am to have you there. I wouldn't want you anywhere else (for now at least!). I hope your amniotic sac house is sturdy and strong and that the Yolk Sac Diner is feeding you with plenty of nutrients and red blood cells!

Be good in there! No spotting or causing your mommy to much nausea! Your daddy and I worked very, very hard to build you that house!

Send me some pictures in a few weeks so I can see how you're doing! And keep them coming! I just want to know that you are safe and healthy!

Kick me if I say or do something wrong...in fact it's encouraged! Just try to avoid kicking me at night while I’m trying to get my beauty sleep. You will have plenty of opportunity once you get here to keep me up all night!

You are more than welcome to stay in your new little home for 9 months...and possibly a few weeks longer if needed, but no leaving any earlier.
Actually I insist that you stay with me!

Knock when you've outgrown your stay and I will let you out and introduce you to your permanent home and loving family!

Love,
Your Mommy

5 weeks

Some info about pregnancy at 5 weeks:
-Over the last week your little embryo has been growing at an exponential pace!
-He/she is about the size of a sesame seed
-He/she resembles something more like a tadpole than a baby.
-The umbilical cord is formed along with the primitive placenta which will begin taking over soon.

I have found out today that my dad (who is a trucker) will be coming home for a week maybe two and then be taking off again for all of July. Daniel and I have to decide if we want to tell them about bug now or just still wait longer like we had planned and do something fun/cute to tell them. I'll have to think about it, he should be back home next week.

Yesterdays digital

So I decided this morning to crack open the digital test that I had taken yesterday afternoon, just to see how dark the test line had gotten. Boy is it dark! I've never had any test line show up so dark with either of my two other previous pregnancies. I think that bug is in there nice and good!
Yesterdays digital. ^_^ see that's me! I'll post that picture to facebook once our appointment next month is all clear and we have some beautiful pictures of bug to post as well!

See how dark that line is?! It sure is pretty looking!

30 days and counting

One month from today I will have my first prenatal visit.
I'm a tad bit annoyed that it is so far out especially with my past miscarriages but oh well I can be patient. I will be exactly 9 weeks pregnant on our appointment day, so at least when we do see bug up on screen he/she will be looking a little more like a baby and less like a sea creature lol. Also there will be a good strong heartbeat and we'll get to see bug moving and dancing all over the place! Oh my gosh it makes me so excited and giddy just thinking about it! Seeing our baby for the first time! After that appointment we will probably start working out our plan to tell our families and after they all know we shall announce to everybody else that we know.

So far I haven't had many symptoms. I have been tired and seem to be eating more now (but I am making sure that it is all healthy foods not junk! I know I am going to gain weight in the next 9'ish months and should gain around 25lbs but I want it to be healthy weight not junk food weight). My breasts aren't as sore as they were last week, which is nice, because they really had been killing me last week.

So for now rather than worry myself I am just going to consider myself blessed not to have any bad pregnancy symptoms because I know that in the next few weeks they will probably sneak up on me and I'll be feeling miserable. Lol. But I will take feeling like poo everyday so long as we get to bring home a healthy baby!

4 weeks

Today our little love bug is 1 month in development, I would normally just be finding out about him/her since I was always the person to tell everybody else not to test early, but since I went crazy and tested early I have known for 4 days now. It's still so crazy to me that I was able to find out so early!
(Drawing by me for Fertility Awareness Planning drawing idea from Baby Center)

Just a small amount of info about pregnancy at 4 weeks.
-Your baby is about the size of a poppy seed.
-This week marks the beginning of the embryonic period.
-Right now your embryo consists of two layers (no longer three) the epiblast and the hypoblast, which all of his/her organs and body parts will develop from.
-By the end of the week the primitive placenta should be formed but will not be fully functioning yet. Until the placenta takes over your little embryo will get it’s nourishment from the yolk sac.
-The sac of amniotic fluids is already fully formed around your little embryo keeping it safe and snug.

Oh my gosh...February 10th!

So if you have read my blog for a "while" now you probably saw my post about Mothers Day and how my brother, Jacob, had unexpectedly passed away February of this year.

Story here if you are interested.

Well I was thinking about it yesterday and it occurred to me that our love bug's due date happens to fall on the same day that Jacob passed away. Now, I don't really expect love bug to come on his/her due date because it's pretty rare that actually happens, but it's just crazy that his/her due date is the same as a significant date to my whole family.
It's like coming full circle, one life was taken home and a year later another will be here.
We haven't told family yet and don't plan to for a few more weeks, but I am sure that they will come to the same realization that I/we did about love bugs estimated due date (EDD).

Finally!

So I called my OB office Monday after having a positive home pregnancy test and left an urgent message that I needed to have progesterone supplements ordered. Receiving no call back yesterday despite the fact that I called 3 times. Being told I would hear from somebody today by 10 and having to call twice again to make people get their butts moving! I finally had a progesterone supplement order placed and was able to pick it up this afternoon! Yay!

These things are pretty crazy looking. The packaging itself is a round box that when you flip it over looks like it would hold bullets, and that's cause the progesterone is shaped like a bullet lol. I am to take 100mg twice a day till 12-13 weeks of pregnancy, so 200mg a day total.

I feel so much better finally having these, I believe that they will do the trick in keeping our little love bug sticky. I'm not crazy about the side effects that these "cause" (well enhance really) but I can totally deal with it! Daniel was already poking fun at me saying that these are going to make me crazy and he's just going to hide in the garage working on his Star Wars armor project.

I am still blown away by how early I/we found out. 10 days past ovulation or 3 weeks and 3 day pregnant, that's crazy, hopefully the first trimester just wont drag on since I found out so early. I'm sure it wont especially with summer coming, things get so busy and before you know it summer is gone. I guess it will be the same way.
