A letter while waiting for you

Dear baby boy.
So here we are.
I can't believe that I am just a few days away from holding you in my arms. Your daddy and I really can not wait to meet you and I know that everybody else is anxious for your arrival as well.
I can't wait to see what you look like, what color your eyes are, if you look more like me or dad or a good mix of the both of us. I can't wait to give you lots and lots of kisses, just hold you as long as I want, and watch you peacefully sleep.
I'm excited to see how amazing your daddy is with you. He always smiles when he talks to or about you and his eyes just light up with so much love. He really is going to be the best daddy that you could ever ask for.

It's almost hard to believe that over 9 months have passed since you were first conceived. The time sure has flown by and that makes me a little sad because I realize just how quickly it will fly by and how fast you will be growing up once you get here.
Part of me wants you to just stay little forever so I never have to let go, but I can not wait to see you grow up and experience things on your own and just become an amazing little man like your daddy is.

We're all ready and waiting for you.
Love you so much baby boy!

39 weeks!

One week to go?! Maybe.
We're in single digit days now of our hopeful arrival day, so either way we're very very close!
I'm getting anxious/excited for him to get here, and just meet him.
Daniel has been very anxious about his arrival as well.
Every time I sigh, look mildly uncomfortable, or well just about do anything these days he's asking me if I'm okay, or if I am going into labor.
I think he's ready for this show to get on the road too.
It's just a matter of when...
I am having a lot of pelvic pressure today (and last night), it was very difficult finding a position to sleep in for long. So hopefully that means that more progress is happening with my cervix and what not.
Guess we will find out at my appointment on Wednesday.
We're ready and waiting for you D!

In other "news" Daniel and I went on a picnic for lunch.
Nice middle of the winter weather we have here isn't it? It was in the high 70's with a very slight breeze. Good for summer weather but not so much winter. I can't imagine what summer will be like this year if it's already this warm out.
Lunch: Individually jarred sweet tea, chips, apples, sandwiches, peanut butter, and carrots.
My "country" get up.

37 week bump!

And here is the 37 weeks bump picture. Sometimes I still laugh because I feel like it looks like I just stuck a basketball or that fake belly up under my shirt. However the crazy active little man trying to bust out my belly reminds me that nope it's not fake.
Believe it or not I still feel pretty good. Not too big or over stretched for the most part unless I am trying to get out of bed in the evening to go pee, then I feel like a turtle stuck on it's back. I can tell though that over the next few weeks or day or however much longer he will be cooking will become uncomfortable as he really, really starts to drop, I'll survive though!

I swallowed a beach ball!

It's crazy how big of a difference just a few weeks can make in belly size. Looking at pictures from 28 weeks and then 33 weeks my belly really grew and really rounded out. Like I hadn't noticed till, umm probably yesterday when I was working on scrapbook pages. See the difference?

Wow crazy big! Just a few more days till 35 weeks and a more up to date belly shot.

The Nutcracker

First just a reminder that the Anne Geddes Beginnings book giveaway is active now, so go enter!

So Daniel and I went to see The Nutcracker ballet this evening. It was so good! The dancers were great and the music was spectacular, we definitely enjoyed ourselves. Our seats were even upgraded which was a lovely surprise. We moved from way up in the back in the upper balcony down the "dress circle". Great view, close enough that we were able to see everything with no problems but not so close that I felt like I was having to look up constantly.
It was a great date night, getting to dress up and have a nice meal out with my hunny. I managed to fit into one of the dresses that I had prepregnancy, it sure made my belly look huge though.

This is the beautiful chandelier was in the lobby area of the "dress circle" level.
They had little nutcracker ornaments for sale.

Such a great evening!

Maternity Photos (in studio)

These are my favorite pictures from our maternity shoot this morning. I am planning to use one of the below pictures for our Christmas cards but don't know which one to choose. We had a lot of fun with our photographer, there were not too many pictures that I actually liked which was a huge bummer to me but at least I have 10 that I really like and such is the way of photography. You take over a hundred pictures and have just a few that are actually worth something, but those end up being the truly great ones. (Just a couple days till we hit 31 weeks, maybe I will have something interesting to post then.)

One:Two:Three:Four:Five:
Peek-a-boo! This picture was actually a "mistake" she just hit the button while I was moving around but I really LOVE it. It's just so cute.

29 weeks!

Oh goodness I totally thought about making this post earlier today when I was on but apparently never got started. Well we're at the 29 week mark! 11 weeks to go which ends up being only 77 days! As said in each weekly post update time is just flying! Thanksgiving is this week (actually in just a few more days!) Our maternity photo shoot is the first weekend in December, last minute Christmas preparations, and then Christmas and New Years!
Oh yeah Daniel got his hair cut this last weekend. And here we are at my cousins wedding. Right before hitting 29 weeks. Yes I wore heels!

Daniel and I must be nuts because we are thinking of heading to Target at midnight for Black Friday shopping. We will probably not end up going because it would be so early/late and there will be so many psychotic people (I think it was last year that people were trampled when doors opened) but never the less we are currently thinking of heading there to check out if they have any crazy good deals on baby/kids clothes.

Yesterday we had Daniels "I Am Your Father" party. It was just a chance for he and his friends to get together and for them to say "congrats". There was hotdogs, chips, drinks, sweets/cake, and football! There was a lot of talking, laughing, and just acting like guys going on so I think that they enjoyed themselves. I wish I had been able to get pictures but my camera battery was dead so sadly I didn't get any. Bummer but oh well.

Nothing new with getting the room ready. Except the cats who totally ignored the crib the first few days if it being up have now claimed it as their own. It's really cute seeing them snuggling in it but I am going to have to find a way to get them out of it without kicking them out of the room. I know that with my moms daycare kids they would just hop into the sleeping areas when the kids were not there but when the kids were they wanted nothing to do with it so hopefully it will work out like that but if not I will just have to look into one of those mesh tent things. But at least I still find them sleeping on the couch more than anything else so that's a good thing.
Jack approves of the crib and the Star Wars sheets.

Progress

I made a collage last night of bump pictures from 19 weeks when I first truly noticed a bump to yesterday at 28 weeks.
Sorry if the picture is super small for some reason when I upload the collage pictures they shrink down like crazy.

Also because I really like this picture from yesterday. Me and our kitten Abby; can't you just tell from the face she is making that she just loves getting kisses.
Today things start getting moved around more in preparation for setting up the crib and changing table! I was debating with myself yesterday if I should wait till after we paint the one wall that the crib will be up against but figured the floor is tile it will be easy enough to slide everything away from the wall and out of the way to paint it then just push it all back after the paint is dry, so nope here we go. I was hoping that we would actually get started on constructing the crib today but Daniel has so much going on that it will have to wait till either Thursday or just this weekend. But regardless of when we get started this or next week I will be sure to post pictures.

Third Trimester! & a Baby Shower!

I had my baby shower yesterday (may seem early to some but my out of state family [my side] was all here so it worked out!) and anyways it ended up being great!
I was super bummed out that morning though because so many of my friends messaged me last minute canceling on coming. So yeah it bummed me out because I just really wanted all my friends to be there and celebrate with me and share in my joy. But oh well things happen and about 20 or so people still showed and we all had a really great time. We hung out for a bit just chatting and eating then we played a few games, opened a few presents, did a raffle giveaway, played another game, then went back to cake and presents.
Wine basket for raffle
Pasta basket
Coffee basket
Game prizes
Thank You favors for guests!

I feel so incredibly blessed, we got so much stuff that even though I had it on my registry I never expected to get it. Like we are set on those big basic things that you need.
Some of the presents that we were blessed to have been given!

We got a pack n play, baby tub spa (didn't even register for it just a really basic one), vibrating swing, boppy/covers, high chair, some crazy gift cards, clothes/blankets, and the convertible car seat we had wanted(seriously never expected to have anybody get that for us!)
Even crazier is I only had two duplicate things (one onsie set and one boppy cover). Most people can't say that and end up having to exchange a ton of things.

The baby bath spa
Opening up more gifts
Swing from Daniel's parents & the large stack of things I had already opened
I was so surprised that we received the convertible car seat we had registered for!
My out of state friends messaged me as well saying that there wished that they could be there to celebrate but that they had sent off a gift for D and it should be getting here soon, so I have even more to look forward to. Seriously I feel so blessed!

Now I just need to reorganize things (again) and find homes for all this stuff, and I finally get to start working on our "nursery". Daniel wouldn't let me start till after the shower, so looks like next month I will be getting paint and starting on that! So exciting.

And now here we are, 28 weeks pregnant and in the third and final trimester! About 12 weeks to go till D should be making his arrival and as I always say it's going to go by so fast! As soon as I fix myself up and get out of my PJs I will have Daniel take a bump picture for me to put up.
Here we are at 28 weeks

26 weeks! and Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everybody!
This used to be my favorite holiday and still probably is.
I love decorating for it and seeing all the kids dressed up having a blast (getting free candy) it makes me excited for when D is big enough for Daniel and I to dress him up and take him out. Daniel has actually already been talking about it. He says that next October (D will be 8 almost 9 months old) he wants to dress him up as Yoda and he will dress up as Luke Skywalker (from The Empire Strikes Back) and carry him around in the Ergo carrier on his back.
Super cute idea, I totally love it, but I'm thinking that 8 months old is a little to young for his first time trick-or-treating, maybe the following year when he is a year and a half old though!

Today consisted of helping Daniel with his school geography project, decorating the house, and throwing together very last minute Halloween costumes.

26 week baby bump!

And Halloween costumes!
Daniel and my brother are both Jedi. Daniel has had his costume for a while but I made my brothers throughout this month. Not to bad for spending no money on it.Then my sister and her friend. She just grabbed some cat ears and a tail then drew on the whiskers (and I talked her into letting me throw glitter on her) her friend we had wear Daniels suit and had him go as a 50's gangster. She kept saying that she wish she had something better to wear but I told her the costume doesn't matter that much so long as she has fun!

Hope you all stay safe and have a Happy Halloween!

25 weeks!

According to my pregnancy ticker D is still about the size of a cauliflower and weighs about 1.5-2 pounds but as said in my previous post D is measuring big at 2 weeks ahead and weighing nearly 2.5 pounds! Also as said in my previous post my due date looks to be changing, I've decided that I'm just going to keep updating as normal with the one that I had been given. D will come when he is good and ready having this date or that date isn't going to change that! But it will make me happier to keep updating in a sequential weekly order so there's that.

If you look at my 24 week post and the picture I have up and then back at this one you can see a pretty big difference, and mind you that was in just a week ago! I'm still feeling good, my hips and back hurt by the end of the day but I attribute that to the fact that he is still apparently sitting pretty low and towards my back. Which is probably why I also still look small for how big he is measuring, though I feel like I had another "pop" over the weekend and am looking a little rounder. But people are still commenting on how i hardly look like I'm pregnant.
Pregnancy insomnia isn't to bad either. I'm finding that I am now having a difficult time falling asleep despite being very tired and seem to have a strict wake up potty time of 4:30 AM, each day on the dot, and then have a difficult time falling back to sleep after.

I think that D is going to be a pretty cool kid. I had The Doors on yesterday and the whole time he just kept kicking and moving around, and when the music stopped so would he. What a character he is.

Pumpkin Patch

Daniel and I took the dog and went to a pumpkin patch today. It was sunny which was a bummer as I was hoping that it would be cloudy and fall looking, but it wasn't too warm so that was something to be glad about! We just walked around for a couple hours and let the dog get some socialization with strangers and different dogs, but she was ready to go when we got back to the car. We'll probably go again before Halloween, I know my sister wants to go and it would be nice to get the whole family out there.

It was a good Thursday!
Oh and trying to see when my dad is planning on hitting the road again and when he plans to be back so I can work out my surprise for them...so far I'm not really getting any answers.

23 weeks!

Dear D,

23 weeks (or there about) today and 119 days to go or 17 weeks! One more week till "viability", which is super exciting! And we're inching closer and close to hitting the 100 day miles stone, and soon we will be in double digit days!
Not much new is going on. You continues to grow and grow and are still putting down those first layers of baby fat. Your ears are fully functioning thought sounds are still very muffled, but you can/will respond to loud crashes and the such...usually with a big jump or strong kick.
You are is about the size of a banana squash...whatever that is.
But you know it's hard of me to imagine that there's a little boy over a foot long (head to toe) in there and that he's till growing. I feel like there's not enough room so I don't know where you are hiding!

Belly picture!

I wasn't going to post one till next week at 6 months but I figured what the heck. It took a while to get this picture by the way, I had Daniel take several of me earlier when we were out but for some reason my camera has been acting up and they were all crazy grainy. So after I messed with all the setting on it for a while I went and took this one and it looks much better!

Anyways here is 23 weeks! Little man is getting BIG and he still love to just chill low in my pelvis!

Dad and I have been talking a lot this past week about what to do with the nursery (or well your portion of the room since you will be rooming with us). Paint has proven to be the biggest obstacle. I found one shade of blue that I loved but then changed my mind and looked for something lighter, then decided that it was too light and looked for something else. I think that I have settled on one though.
It's kind of in between both shades of the darker and lighter blue and not to powdery. Of course your dad doesn't really care so long as we get the Star Wars stuff up. But hopefully we will get started with painting sometime next month...and hopefully once the paint is up I will be happy with it!

Ooh we're halfway there!!

Oh man that Bon Jovi song has been stuck in my head the last few days lol.
Can you believe that we hit the halfway point today? 20 weeks down and 20 to go! I have a feeling that it is going to go by so quickly. Holidays are right around the corner and heck everybody get busy around this time, next thing you know *poof* it will be February!

Since confirming that little D is still a boy we have been talking a bunch about what we want to do for his section of the room (since we will have him in the room with us). So far I believe that we have the paint color we want chosen and a border for the top of the room. We don't plan to get truly started on it though till after the baby show which will be mid November. I am letting Daniel plan a lot of the decor for little D's corner and he is definitely excited about it.

There isn't much difference from Friday/Saturday when I posted one and today. Hmm other random things. That long sleeve purple shirt is probably my new favorite shirt. I love long sleeves to begin with but this one is super comfy and I love that it shows off my little bump, hopefully I can go later and get at least one more shirt. Cravings lately include Chick Fil A and bean/cheese burritos with sour cream and fresh made salsa! Yummo.

As for little D he's about 10.5-11 inches in length and weighs possibly 11oz give or take. (Our tech didn't tell us his measurements at our anatomy scan so I am hoping at my Dr appointment next week they will be able to tell me since I would bet she had it written down on the paper she sent to them). Food comparison wise according to The Bump he is the size of a cantaloupe. We still have lot of time where there will be no activity and then suddenly a burst of activity, never at any specific time though. He does what he wants.

Love you D stay safe and keep growing in there for the next 20 weeks or so!

Pop!

It's crazy the change that can happen in just over a weeks time.

We took these pictures yesterday evening (so 19w2d) I think that there us a pretty noticeable difference. Now I actually feel like I look pregnant and not just that I haven't been working out like I should.

Little D has been pretty active again and boy is he already a strong little guy. It seems as though his new favorite thing to do when I am just laying around is go to either side of my belly and push it out making it all disproportional. It's weird but really cool because we're actually able to see him moving around!

12 week bump

Shirt up vs Shirt down. I still mostly just feel pudgey but there is a definite baby bump starting! I would say that by 16 weeks it will be rather round and obvious.

4 VS 11

A picture from 4 weeks pregnant vs today at 11 weeks pregnant. Just looking at myself day to day I don't really notice a difference in a growing baby bump but comparing the two pictures side by side I can definitely see a difference! Before I just had a little teeny tiny bit of belly pudge and obviously by my pelvis was flat. Now my uterus seems to be pushing up more making the area more rounded. Yay! It's not much but it's coming along nicely and I'm excited for when it's an obvious baby bump cause not long after that we should be able to feel bug kicking and moving around.
