22 weeks!

At my last appointment we went over my genetic screening test results. Everything came back normal and at the lowest percentage for there to be a defect. Which is good to hear not that we were worried about it.
We listened to his heartbeat and it was still pumping away at 150 beats per minute just as it has during the last three appointments now. Guess that old wives tale about boys heart rates being 140 or under is just that.

We also got my appointments set up for pretty much the remainder of the pregnancy! Not only does now saying there is 18 weeks left in the count down make it seem crazy close but having my appointments all planned out does too!
I have one appointment just a little over three weeks apart from in Oct, Nov, and Dec. One appointment two weeks after my Dec appointment (first week of Jan) and then the rest of Jan I have an appointment each week.
Wow!

Anyways when the receptionist gave me the print out with all my appointments I read over it and saw that the spot where they have my due date posted had changed. I've just been going by growth which put the due date as Feb 8th and they had it in their paper work as the 11th. Now they have changed it, but again doesn't matter because he will come when he is ready to and my family is still convinced that he will be born the 10th. But now it looks like we're down for around the 6th of Feb. So now I just look at it as from the 6th-14th.
I don't care so long as he makes it to at least 37 weeks, which is considered full term, and is healthy! I don't want to have him in the NICU at all, I'm going to be selfish and keep him with me.
Again the "official due date" doesn't so much matter to me it's more of just a count down.

So this week of pregnancy (whenever we actually hit it...I'm thinking of just keeping my 8th due date as I had been) D's inner ear is now fully formed and developing a sense of balance. He is about 1 foot in length and weighs around 1 pound. He has established his own sleep pattern by now and is sleeping around 12-14 hours a day. Apparently he also has dreams, I don't know what there would be for him to dream about but that's very cool! Food comparison wise he is about the size of a papaya.

Keep on growing baby boy!

Happy October!

Welcome October! You're my favorite month out of the rest and the start to the holiday season! Can't wait for cool weather to come in and baking sweet treats to start. I love when it gets cold and gray outside and I can wear a nice long sleeve shirt or a sweater. I love having days of just baking, watching movies and sipping hot drinks.
Daniel and I are starting our October by heading up to Disneyland for a few hours later this evening. Can't wait to see all the fun Halloween themed decorations that they have up. Just a few more days till our 3 year anniversary!

21 Weeks!

I've now hit the point where I have been pregnant longer than what I have left. 21 down 19 to go. That makes it sound so much closer but it's still pretty much 5 months. I have an appointment with my Dr tomorrow afternoon. Should just be a doppler check and those other basic things but I am also going to talk to her about doing a cervical length check. I know that she'll think that there is no reason to but it will make me feel better.

I'll edit the post tomorrow.

You always make me smile...

Oh little D,

Every time I feel you kick, jump, or just wiggle around it brings such a smile to my face. I love feeling you move around and just knowing that you are growing strong. Really I can't not smile when I feel you move, it seriously one of the best things ever and puts butterflies in my tummy and makes my heart beat just a little faster...and reminds me just how blessed and grateful I am that you are here with us and growing healthy!

Keep on growing baby, love you bunches.

Ooh we're halfway there!!

Oh man that Bon Jovi song has been stuck in my head the last few days lol.
Can you believe that we hit the halfway point today? 20 weeks down and 20 to go! I have a feeling that it is going to go by so quickly. Holidays are right around the corner and heck everybody get busy around this time, next thing you know *poof* it will be February!

Since confirming that little D is still a boy we have been talking a bunch about what we want to do for his section of the room (since we will have him in the room with us). So far I believe that we have the paint color we want chosen and a border for the top of the room. We don't plan to get truly started on it though till after the baby show which will be mid November. I am letting Daniel plan a lot of the decor for little D's corner and he is definitely excited about it.

There isn't much difference from Friday/Saturday when I posted one and today. Hmm other random things. That long sleeve purple shirt is probably my new favorite shirt. I love long sleeves to begin with but this one is super comfy and I love that it shows off my little bump, hopefully I can go later and get at least one more shirt. Cravings lately include Chick Fil A and bean/cheese burritos with sour cream and fresh made salsa! Yummo.

As for little D he's about 10.5-11 inches in length and weighs possibly 11oz give or take. (Our tech didn't tell us his measurements at our anatomy scan so I am hoping at my Dr appointment next week they will be able to tell me since I would bet she had it written down on the paper she sent to them). Food comparison wise according to The Bump he is the size of a cantaloupe. We still have lot of time where there will be no activity and then suddenly a burst of activity, never at any specific time though. He does what he wants.

Love you D stay safe and keep growing in there for the next 20 weeks or so!

Anatomy Scan

After several ultrasounds and not having any good profile pictures we finally got a couple today!

Our "skeletor" face shot. You can see the eyelids and little chin.
Finally our little boy is still ALL boy!! So HA to the people who kept telling me "oh it's still to early to tell, they still look the same at this stage, don't get your hopes up".

So after a long 5 weeks of going without seeing or hearing the baby we finally had our anatomy scan today! I was excited to see D again and confirm that he is indeed a boy. Which as you can see from the pictures we did and with little effort I might add. He wasn't hiding much of anything from us today. We got to see his organs, they all looked good and in the correct places. Two kidneys, two brain lobes, four chambers in the heart, arm and leg bones all looked good. He made it difficult for the tech to get a good shot of his hands and feet but she was able too and there are five fingers on each hand and five toes on each little foot. His head was nice a round just like his belly, haha. And his heart rate was 140, he was sleeping again so we didn't have much movement other than the hands and feet moving out of the shot she was trying to get.

I'm so glad that he appears to be growing healthy and strong and right on track (and that he is still a boy)! I have a follow up with my Dr next week to go over the scan results as well as my blood screening, and probably just a doppler check. We hit the half way point in just a couple days!

Pow right in the kisser

Hahaha!

Oh little D,

So last night Dad and I were laying in bed and I said to him "Huh I think that D is doing back flips or something he's moving a lot." Dad's reply was "Oh cool...I want to see if I can hear him"
Yes hear him...don't ask me why.

Anyways he kisses my belly says "hi baby" and then puts his head/ear on my belly apparently trying to listen for you.
A minute later POW he got kicked right in the face. It was a strong kick too. The look on his face was priceless! He jumped back and was like "what the heck, was that you?" to which I reply in my laughter "no!" A huge smile came across his face and he was like "oh my gosh he's a strong little guy already...I'm going to feel sorry for you in a couple more months"

I'm still laughing my butt off but stopped and was like "yes thank you I know I'm not going to enjoy my ribs/lungs being used as punching bags." Really little guy I'm not I'll try not to complain to much but keep the rib punches to a minimum, please.

Still smiling ear to ear he goes back to my belly pokes it and says "hey...do it again!" then put his head back down. But I guess you were done for the evening and had probably moved further back because there weren't any more big kicks. So I just rolled over and went to sleep.

Oh my goodness it was so funny, Daniel got kicked in the face before little D even made his grand entrance.

Anatomy scan is tomorrow! About 26 more hours. Hopefully our little guy is still a little guy. I would bet that he is but at least then I can totally stop worrying about it and shut people up for good. Hehe. It has been a long month not having any appointments.
